Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 12, 2026.

This policy applies to the personal blog operated by Simon Liu at https://blog.simonliu.cn/, including its Chinese and English pages. Other websites, including third-party platforms linked from this blog, have their own privacy policies.

Current services and data use

The blog offers public articles, topic browsing, site search, and RSS feeds. It currently has no reader registration, login, on-site comments, or contact form. Google Analytics and Google AdSense advertising scripts are not currently integrated into its pages.

You do not need to provide a name, phone number, identity document, payment information, or securities account details to read the blog. The site does not maintain a separate reader-account database or sell readers’ personal information. If advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated to reflect its actual use.

Access data and Cloudflare hosting

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, and security services. When you visit, the service provider may process your IP address, request time, requested URL, referring page, browser or device information, and response status to deliver pages, operate the service, monitor performance, and prevent abuse.

Necessary security cookies may be used by the hosting service when relevant features are enabled. Its processing and log retention depend on its policies and actual service configuration. The absence of reader accounts does not mean that visiting the site involves no data processing. Data may be processed outside your country or region.

The site uses localStorage to remember your light or dark theme preference until you clear the site’s data. It uses sessionStorage for return paths, search-page state, and selected articles in topic lists; this storage normally ends with the corresponding browsing session. These features support reading and are not used for advertising profiles by this site.

Site search runs in your browser using the search index provided by the blog and does not actively send search terms to an external search service. Terms may appear in the search URL, browsing history, or stored return path. Visiting, sharing, or reloading a URL containing those terms may also include them in requests and hosting logs. Do not enter identity numbers, account passwords, or other sensitive information.

Use your browser’s site-data or privacy settings to clear storage and manage cookies. Clearing data may reset your theme and some reading preferences.

Google AdSense and third-party advertising

AdSense advertising is not enabled as of this policy’s update date. This section describes what would apply if it is enabled later.

Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to provide personalized advertising based on those visits.

Advertising may also involve web beacons, IP addresses, device or browser identifiers, ad impressions and clicks, and approximate location information for delivery, measurement, and invalid-traffic prevention. See How Google uses data from partners’ sites or apps and the Google Privacy Policy.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google’s advertising settings. Third-party advertising opt-out choices provide options for some participating vendors. Opting out of personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ads.

If other advertising vendors are enabled, this page will identify the actual vendors and link to their policies and opt-out options. Where consent is required, an applicable consent mechanism must be provided before the relevant advertising or storage technologies are enabled, with a way to manage or withdraw choices. This policy does not itself obtain consent. The site currently has no active advertising consent-management interface.

WeChat and GitHub process messages sent through their platforms under their own policies. The author uses received messages only as needed to address questions, reply, make corrections, or meet applicable legal requirements, and should delete or minimize information when no longer needed. Do not send sensitive personal information in public discussions.

You can clear browser preferences yourself. Hosting-log and third-party message retention depend on the relevant services’ policies and configuration. The blog does not promise a single retention period for data it cannot control.

Following an external link may send your request and related browser information to that website. The blog does not control its processing or perform deletion requests on its behalf.

Your choices and contact information

Subject to applicable law, you can ask about, access, correct, or request deletion of personal information actually held by the author, or withdraw consent where it can be withdrawn. Requests may require identity verification and clarification of the information involved. Information that must legally be retained or is independently processed by a third party may not be directly removable by the author.

The blog is intended for general adult readers, is not directed at children, and does not ask children to provide personal information. Please contact the author if a child’s personal information has been inappropriately supplied.

The site operator is Simon Liu. For privacy questions, use the WeChat public-account channel listed in About the blog and its author, explaining the request and relevant URL. Do not provide identity documents in public GitHub discussions. Agree on an appropriate communication channel before sharing further information.

Policy changes

This policy and its date will be updated when site features, advertising, or data processing change. Material changes will be explained through an appropriate notice on the site. A policy update or continued browsing does not replace consent where consent is legally required.
